Plagiarism Policy

IRHAMNA is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. To uphold ethical publishing practices, all submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening before proceeding to the review and publication stages.

1. Plagiarism Screening Process

  • Every manuscript submitted to IRHAMNA will be checked using Turnitin or iThenticate plagiarism detection software.
  • The maximum allowable similarity index is 20% (excluding references and commonly used phrases).
  • Manuscripts exceeding 20% similarity will be automatically rejected and will not proceed to the peer review process.
  • Authors will be given the opportunity to revise and resubmit their manuscript only if the similarity is due to improper citation rather than intentional plagiarism.

2. Types of Plagiarism Considered Unacceptable

IRHAMNA strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism, including but not limited to:

  1. Direct Plagiarism – Copying text, data, or ideas from another source without proper citation.
  2. Self-Plagiarism – Republishing one’s own previously published work without proper citation or permission.
  3. Mosaic Plagiarism – Rewording another author’s content while retaining the original meaning without citation.
  4. Unattributed Paraphrasing – Restating someone else’s work without proper acknowledgment.
  5. Fabrication and Falsification – Manipulating research data or results to mislead readers.

3. Consequences of Plagiarism

IRHAMNA takes plagiarism violations seriously and will take the following actions:

  • Before Peer Review: Manuscripts exceeding 15% similarity will be automatically rejected without further review.
  • During Peer Review: If plagiarism is identified by reviewers, the manuscript will be immediately rejected, and the author(s) may be blacklisted.
  • After Publication: If plagiarism is detected post-publication, the article will be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued.

4. Ethical Compliance

Authors must ensure that their work is original and that all sources are properly cited. By submitting a manuscript to IRHAMNA, authors agree to comply with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines on plagiarism and research integrity.
